Dr. Dean Kardassakis is a board-certified specialist in allergy, asthma, and immunology. He treats adults and children with several conditions including allergies involving the nose and eyes, asthma, atopic dermatitis (also called eczema), urticaria and angioedema (hives and swellings), food allergies, drug allergies, and recurrent infections.
Dean is a born and bred San Franciscan whose grandfather emigrated to San Francisco before the 1906 Earthquake. He attended U.C. Berkeley (Bachelor of Arts degree), Stanford University (Master of Science degree), and University of Nevada at Reno (Medical Degree and Residency in Internal Medicine). Dean completed his training with a two-year Fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at the University of California at San Francisco. He has worked in California ever since—with most of his time spent in San Mateo.
Dean has advanced to Fellowship in the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is a past president of the Northern California Allergy Association.
When he is not seeing patients or reading medical journals, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs.
